My Art

Adriana (she/her/ella) was born in the vibrant, artistic city of Barcelona, Catalonia. Over the past 15 years, she has embraced a nomadic lifestyle, exploring places like Bristol, Sydney, Vietnam, China, and, for the last six years, Hong Kong. Throughout her travels, she has worked in various fields, mastering the languages of survival and discipline. From a working-class family rich in creative pursuits—her father's side filled with amateur artists, musicians, and dancers, and her mother's side with conscious eaters—Adriana's upbringing was steeped in art and culture. She spent countless evenings in her mother's retail shop, drawing inspiration from the cartoons on the clothing. This early exposure fostered her love for visual art, which complemented her passion for sports and dance. Art was one of Adriana's strongest subjects in school, providing her with a creative outlet. As she contemplated her future, torn between physical education and fine arts, life led her toward physical education and health. Her journey to Asia included a stint in China, where she worked at a school that encouraged her artistic endeavors. In 2021, she began painting after being inspired by a professional artist from Barcelona who recognised her talent during some of her watercolour pieces. In 2022, Adriana transitioned to acrylic painting, using art as a means of self-expression while navigating her father's health struggles. This period of personal growth led her to become a dance therapist, channelling her experiences into healing practices. Adriana became deeply involved in creative projects, especially on Lamma Island, where she contributed to the Lamma Art Collective. Her first canvas for a project called "Art Swap" featured a cow—an unexpected beginning that sparked a series of 22 paintings for her first solo exhibition scheduled for June 2025. Adriana's journey reflects a beautiful interplay between art, movement, and personal growth. Her upcoming exhibition promises to showcase her unique voice and the evolution of her artistic practice.
